IT is excited to welcome back all students and staff to a new year!  Below is some information for students, families, and staff regarding student devices:

 

How to get technical assistance

Keeping your Chromebook safe!

2- The Fleetwood Tiger visited us in IT to help us show our students how to take care of their Chromebooks! You can see the video of the Tiger's visit HERE. 

 

Student Device (both iPad and Chromebook) Insurance

3- We are offering device insurance for all grade levels, and we highly encourage all families to opt in to the insurance program. To assist families in financial need, students who qualify for free lunch are automatically (and at no cost) enrolled in the insurance program. Students who qualify for reduced lunch are able to participate in the insurance program for a reduced cost. The insurance form can be found by clicking HERE

Note: Insurance forms should be completed and sent with payment (a check is preferred) to your child's building office. 
(This is done so that students' insurance participation can be accurately tracked.)

Please note, we saw frequent screen damage to Chromebooks in the 2020-2021 school year. This was often due to items (such as ear buds, pencils, etc) being put on the keyboard and then the Chromebook was closed. This cracked the screen. Since many of our students now have touch-screen Chromebooks, the replacement screens for those devices are more costly. Please take good care of your Chromebooks, and if at all possible, participate in the insurance program to protect against unexpected repair costs. 

For families of younger students who have iPads, please note that a cracked iPad screen is extremely costly (compared with a Chromebook). Cost estimates are on the insurance form. A cracked iPad screen costs over $200 to repair. We highly encourage insurance program participation to help families mitigate any costs that would arise from device damage.
