Pennsylvania Migrant Education Program (PA-MEP)

Pennsylvania's Migrant Education Program - PA-MEP is a federally funded program that supplements educational support services for migratory students. Their services include Tutorial programs, After-school extended hours, Summer programs, In-home programs, Health and social support services, Parental involvement, Advocacy, Language Arts, and Enrichment.

Pennsylvania Student Assistance Program (SAP)

Pennsylvania Student Assistance Program (SAP) - CARON is the provider for running student groups and assisting with Student Assistance Program (SAP). SAP is a systematic team process used to mobilize school resources to remove barriers to learning. Student groups include Anger Management, Changing Families, Friendship, Grief and Loss, Kids of Promise, and Social Skills. TAP is designed to assist in identifying issues including alcohol, tobacco, other drugs, and mental health issues that pose a barrier to a student’s success. CARON offers Behavioral Health Assessments for students in grades 5-12. Following an assessment, they meet with parents where they recommend support services and can refer their student to outside Mental Health and/or Drug and Alcohol agencies. They also provide parent education.

Communities in Schools (CIS)

Communities In Schools - CIS is an evidence-based model that connects students to caring adults and social work services to transform how they see and experience the world around them. Site coordinators empower students and families to overcome barriers to school success. Site coordinators are equipped to assist and support a student with academic, behavioral, social-emotional learning, mental health, and/or attendance challenges. The site coordinators set goals with individual students and monitor their progress throughout the year. Site coordinators can also run schoolwide lessons or events, small groups, and provide individual support. Site coordinators are able to assist with immediate needs as well. Site coordinators support positive two-way communication between the school and home. The CIS site coordinators are available throughout the school day and do whatever it takes to help the student succeed. (Currently at the FAMS and FAHS)

Advancing School Attendance Program (ASAP)

Advancing School Attendance Program - ASAP serving Berks County is designed to work with families and students to increase school attendance and/or participation in career-oriented activities. Typical family goals for students participating in this program include reducing student absenteeism and decreasing tardiness. Service Access Management (SAM) provides caseworkers to provide support to the connection of school to home. School administration and counselors are able to connect families with the organization throughout the school year.


CONCERN is a private, non-profit human services organization dedicated to providing prevention, placement, and treatment services to students and their families. CONCERN provides individual therapeutic counseling to students. CONCERN has an office within FASD schools. They meet with their student at school or at their office throughout the school year and summer.

ABA Support Services

A Board Certified Behavior Analysis (BCBA) is a graduate-level or doctorate-level certification in behavior analysis. A BCBA conducts observations and develops formal behavior plans for students with significant behavioral needs, who have been referred through our Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) process. Plans will focus on providing goals and strategies to support students within the classroom.

A Licensed Behavior Specialist (LBS) is a person who carries a master’s degree and has completed a 90-hour course sequence. A LBS supports the implementation of behavior plans and provides coaching to a student’s teachers to assist in implementing strategies that will support the success of the student in the classroom.

A Registered Behavior Tech (RBT) is a paraprofessional who practices under the close, ongoing supervision of a BCBA. An RBT provides direct support to students, who have behavior plans, to help students be successful within the classroom.
