Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)

As we continue encouraging our teachers and students to engage with technology that supports 21st-century learning—communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity—we have created a list of the websites and applications commonly used in the Fleetwood Area School District. We are sharing these resources and their privacy policies to help families become familiar with them and to meet the requirements of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

The Fleetwood Area School District is committed to keeping students safe, especially when they are using online tools and digital learning resources. As part of our instructional program, students learn about appropriate online behavior, including responsible communication, cyberbullying prevention, and the protection of personal information. While we recognize that high-quality online tools provide valuable educational opportunities, we also work to ensure that your child’s privacy is protected.

Teachers, curriculum departments, and our app-vetting committee carefully review all requested apps and websites, including their privacy statements. The district maintains a list of approved applications and resources that are essential to our instructional program. Parents and guardians are encouraged to check this list throughout the year to stay informed about the apps and websites used in the district.

As a reminder, parents and guardians provide consent for the use of these educational applications during annual verification in Infinite Campus or when registering a new student. This consent allows us to use approved digital tools that support teaching and learning while maintaining student safety and privacy.
