Volunteers play an important role in supporting the students, staff, and programs of the Fleetwood Area School District. We are very thankful that you have expressed an interest in volunteering in our district.
Pennsylvania has requirements for individuals wishing to volunteer in our schools. These clearances include the Act 34 State Police Criminal Clearance and the Act 151 Child Abuse History Clearance. In addition, if you have been a resident of Pennsylvania for the previous ten years, you will need to sign a Volunteer Affirmation form confirming you have not been convicted of any crime that would disqualify you from volunteering in a public school. If you have not been a resident of Pennsylvania for ten years, you will need to complete an FBI Clearance which requires fingerprinting. The volunteer is responsible for the fees to obtain these clearances. Please note: the district does not receive copies of your clearances from the agencies. It is your responsibility to provide copies of each clearance. The Criminal History Clearance, Child Abuse Clearance, and the Volunteer Affirmation form or FBI clearance must be received prior to being approved as a school volunteer. If you are completing the Volunteer Affirmation form since you have resided in Pennsylvania for the past ten (10) years, please make certain to have someone witness your signature. If your witness is not a Fleetwood Area School District employee, please have the witness print their name and address, in addition to signing the form. Instructions for the FBI clearance, if needed, will be available in each school office.
To be approved as a volunteer, you must submit all of the below to your child's school:
- Volunteer Information Form
- Pennsylvania State Police: Response for PA Criminal Background Check
- Pennsylvania Department of Human Services: PA Child Abuse Clearance
- Either A OR B, listed below.
A. FBI Clearance (Fingerprinting): Use the Digital Fingerprinting service code: 1KG6ZJ
B. Exemption Form for FASD Volunteers (Volunteer Affirmation Form) from FBI Clearance
Volunteer clearances are valid for 60 months (5 years) from the date of certification.
Questions about your current clearances should be directed to your child's school office.
