Typical Kindergarten Student Schedule
The school day starts at 9 am and ends at 3:45 pm.

Morning Meeting - 30 minutes

English Language Arts - 120 minutes
- Mathematics - 60 minutes
- What I Need (WIN) Time - 40 minutes
- Special Areas (Phys Ed, Art, Media, and Music)- 40 minutes
- Lunch - 30 minutes
Great Strategies for Preparing for Kindergarten

Healthy Habits - Proper nutrition, daily exercise and a consistent bedtime are essential to your child reaching his or her potential.
- Routines - Children will feel secure and know what is expected. Create routines such as reading daily.
- Play - You can model fairness, turn taking, guided play, imagination, how to lose and sportsmanship.
- New Experiences - This helps children make connections between their world and what they are learning.
- Gain Independence- Taking off/putting on outerwear, Unpacking/packing materials. Putting away toys. Small chores at home.
- Talk to other Adults/Children-Genuine face-to-face conversation, Time “unplugged” to play with peers.
- Self Advocacy- Asking for help when needed, being able to express needs. Create strategies for frustration.
- Language- Sing songs and practice nursery rhymes, avoid baby talk, model good listening and speaking practices.
